Found this at Newsarama: http://www.newsarama.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000601 Basically, Spirit #11 and SA Teen Titans #1 in August, and Plastic Man #5 and TOR #3 in Sept. IP: Logged |

quote: These all sound cool. I think I will start picking up the Spirit with #12. To whine for just a minute, the TT archive sounds a bit short. Does the 204 page count include the intro, bio page, and blank pages? This is Silver Age material, and not that early either, so I am guessing page counts of 23 per issue. I wish they had squeezed in one more issue. IP: Logged |

Is Tor only 144 pages and a full price archive? ![]() IP: Logged |

All the Tor's have been about that page length. They are over-sized and a very nice looking package, but whether or not they are worth the price is a personal judgement. They're two of my favorite books in my collection. - Bill IP: Logged |

I've pulled no punches when it comes to my feelings about the declining page counts in the archives. 204 pages continues the downward trend. I'm not at all happy about it, but I'll probably still pick up the book. Tor is another matter entirely, and as much as I've enjoyed the Tor books, I will nit spend 50 dollars on a book that is only around 100 pages of actual comic. Tor Volume 2 contained around 60 pages of actual comic. The rest of the volume was filler--a very long intoro and several pages of sketches and proposal for movies and TV. DC is miling the Tor series. There is absolutely no reason why the series could not have been completed in two volumes. I will not be purchasing Tor Volume 3 from my coic book store, and I told my local comic shop that he should take this into account when ordering Tor. Several of my friends who purchase DC archives are also passing on Tor. We are content to wait until it makes its way to ebay. Page counts have been steadily declining. Just look at the last Spirit volume! I do not like this trend... IP: Logged |

*Sigh* So many archives, so little time. The Spectre, All-Star, and Challengers volumes will probably finish my archives budget for this year, but we'll see. IP: Logged |

Teen Titans 1 collects eight Silver Age issues, which is the same number we get with JLA or Green Lantern or any of the other 1960s features. Several of the issues involved must just be a page or two shorter than the average for the period. Once the page count of story material from the original comics starts dropping, in the 1970s, I'll be annoyed if we don't get a larger number of issues per volume, but so far I'm not particularly concerned. Not that any of these archives are bad, but this means I'll have to wait until autumn for the next Shazam! Archive. IP: Logged |
